Norfalco, the sulfuric acid distribution business of Glencore, received the Association of American Railroad (AAR) Grand Slam Award in August 2022 for the safety of its sulfuric acid shipments.

This prestigious award is given to shippers of hazardous materials without Non Accidental Release record on at least four Class 1 railroads. In 2021, NorFalco exceeded the minimum requirements of this award by having zero non-accidental releases on six Class 1 railroads and receiving five safe shipping awards!

This accomplishment is the result of the combined efforts of Norfalco employees, those assigned to the shipping terminals and employees of Glencore Canada's three sulfuric acid production sites, located in Rouyn-Noranda, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and Sudbury.

This award reflects the vision of safety and excellence that guides everything we do at Norfalco, from railcar design to shipping excellence. All of our employees continue to approach each shipment of sulfuric acid with the same high standards of safety and care that have made us famous for nearly two decades with our customers in North America.
